This is my second entry into Cell's Empire Competition and it is also my second attempt at using Corel PhotoPaint to colour my designs. This latest attempt I feel went well, I tried to get more shadow and light effects into it and I think I managed it reasonably well. I also tried a more detailed background (well, I say detailed I put some flames in, which is more detailed than my other backgrounds) which I think worked nicely with the coat and Buu's skin.

The character is called Danuu. It is Buu after absorbing Dante (more on that below). I chose Super Buu and the DMC 3 Dante to use within the design. I went for Danuu because I thought the name had a good sound to it. It was also better than the alternative I thought of, Buute, due to the fact that when said outloud (using the same pronounciation as Buu and Dante) it just didn't sound right.

The story:

After having been beaten by the Z fighters, Buu awakes to find himself outside of Devil May Cry. He ventures forth into the building hoping to find out where his defeat has landed him. Upon entering he is confronted by Dante the proprietor of Devil May Cry. Dante immediately attacks him, thinking him another Demon out to get him. Buu naturally defends himself and after half an hour of solid fighting, Dante begins to lose. However as Buu is about to strike a finishing blow, Dante yells in defiance and activates his Devil Trigger. Now the two fighters are back to being an even match. They exchange blows and now it seems that Dante has victory within his grasp, until, his power fades, the Devil Trigger exhausted him and he could hold his devil form no longer. As the transformation back to Dante occurs, Buu is given a moment to heal himself and get back to full fighting strength. The same can't be said for Dante, even the son of Sparda has his limits against a seemingly immortal foe like the almighty Buu. Dante tries to fight back but it is futile he has nothing left to attack Buu with and Buu callously absorbs him and bonds with Dante.

This new creature has little known about it, some believe it is Dante, others believe it is Buu, some say it is a completely new entity, some have faith in it being a hero, some have condemned it as a villain, but there is one guarantee for everyone. With the combined powers of Buu and Dante, when that thing hits the Devil Trigger, you better run like HELL!!
